Location

Our camps are held in the small village of Leorza, just 20 minutes from Vitoria.

Dates

In June and July we offer two 13 days camps and one 6 day camp to choose from.

Camp size

Each camp has a maximum of 65 campers and 13 monitors.

English

We work with small ratios of campers to staff to ensure English immersion as well as a family feeling.

Programme

In Lurkoi we integrate English into every activity.

In the morning after breakfast we start the day with a fun assembly followed by a choice of active activities, for example yoga, sports, zumba, or crazy games.

Before lunch we have project time where the campers work on something they are interested in throughout the camp to show to the entire camp on the last day.

After lunch we walk through the forest to arrive at the Maeztu swimming pools. After an afternoon snack we offer four different activities the campers can choose from.

After dinner we have our famous Farm Night Game which, for many, is the highlight of the day.

After a small relaxation before bedtime, we all say goodnight.

Apart from the trips we do close to Lurkoi, we also have two full-day excursions, usually one to the beach and the other to a waterfall.

Immersion experience

We create a fully immersive English environment with a minimum of 85% native staff. 

Projects

During the camp the children work on a project they are interested in, and create something to show on the last day to the entire camp.

Food

Our chef Txaro cooks delicious homemade food everyday, using local products where possible.

Activities

Each day we offer a wide variety of activities that the children can choose from. There is always something sporty, adventurous, crafty or relaxing to choose from.

Farm

Our camps run on an authentic farm where the children are responsible for taking care of the rabbits, ducks, chickens, and sheep.

Swimming

When the weather is good we visit the local swimming pools. A walk through the forest brings us from Lurkoi straight to the pools.

Insurance

All the participants are covered with our insurance during their stay on camp.

Loving environment

We create close bonds with small ratios of children to staff, usually 6-8 children per monitor, so that every child feels cared for and supported.

More than just a camp...

A 13 day camp for children aged 7-13 on a beautiful Farm School in the mountains of Álava.

Surrounded by forest and rivers, Lurkoi provides the perfect setting for nature exploration and adventure. In Lurkoi we offer many activities from river walks and cave exploration, to rock painting and kite making. There is something for everyone!

Apart from two excursions we also have many visits to Maeztu and the local swimming pools.

All of this and more happens through English. Even during free time, our native monitors relax and interact with the kids to maintain the immersion experience. We don’t force our campers to speak in English, however through a combination of rewards and praise, we create an environment in which the kids feel intrinsically motivated to speak English, even if they only know a few words.
